Skill Development
Our first suite of client tailored video material was produced as part of a major project for the largest retailer in Singapore, back in the 80's. This client won an award from The National Productivity Board of Singapore, and we were featured in their annual report.
Within 12 months of setting up our Victorian Practice, we had filmed similar customised skills illustrations for our first three clients, Exxon, CUB and Red Tulip Chocolates. |
Pre-Prepared Video Material
Since then, many clients have specified such video support under our "Fast Forward" sub-brand. These clients have included: Dulux, Gillette, Interface, SPC, United Biscuits, John Sands, Kemcor and Iveco, amongst others.

In every case, client feedback has told us that this customised video adds lasting value to skill development projects.
Topics include:
As you will read in the downloadable backgrounder (click here), we usually create both "How To..." and "How NOT To..." examples of typical situations. The backgrounder also explains how these short clips are used in a context of skill development, to illuminate practical exercises.
Live Recording for Video Skills Practice Sessions
We are also highly practised in the use of closed circuit video for skills practice sessions. Once again, our experience over many years has refined our sensitive process for the conduct of such sessions, according to the requirements of the client and the nature of the audience. Benchmarking and Standard Setting
Video can be used to set the expectations and standards management is looking for, rather than for skill development. In this case, we produce only an "on-standard" set of materials, since the client wishes to communicate to their teams "what success looks like". This can be important when we are working to facilitate a consistent level of capability across different business units or branches. Or when we have identified that middle management is having difficulty identifying skills gaps.
Proprietary Generic Video Skills Materials
We have also produced a library of generic skills illustrations, using non-client-specific scenarios and case studies. We call this the "Classic Harrison Collection". This allows us from time to time to offer video support material to Clients who are happy to work with less customised materials. In this case the materials are licenced to the Client for a specific period or a rental charge is built into the overall project costing. Two examples appear below.
Topics include:
- sales "101"
- consultative sales
- negotiation
- presentations
- business reviews and development ("BRAD") meetings
- the full range of management skills (coaching, counselling, meetings etc)

These two short videos are from our files, and their quality has been impacted by a series of video format conversions over the years. We are unable to showcase our latest work due to copyright restrictions. We hope you will "get the picture"!
