Solutions Page - Video Tools

Video material has always been seen as a way to keep any style of learning relevant, interesting and stimulating for the learner.  But as the "Training Films" that were popular in earlier years lost their effectiveness, they became prohibitively expensive to rent or buy; however, the  Client requirements remained:
  • add value to an informal and stimulating learning environment
  • set benchmarks for specific situations and skills, relevant to the particular Client
  • provide a vehicle for interactive learning through customised exercises
  • motivate participants and their managers through direct involvement
  • support “blended learning” approaches (web, video, e-coaching etc)
  • support “train-the-trainer” models for sales coaching and leadership​​  
So Harrison Consulting responded by pioneering a unique approach which makes use of the client's own resources for actors, locations and props.  For each Client assignment, we produce a "battery" of short clips to address specific skill-sets or needs.  These short "vignettes" are much more flexible in use.  Our production process is highly efficient and cost-effective.  Details and examples can be found in our Showcase Pages (click here).

These Video Tools add significant value to highly tailored and polished programmes of training, and are seen by Clients as a perennial resource and a worthwhile investment.  Typically, topics covered are weighted towards skills such as:
  • sales "101"
  • consultative sales
  • negotiation
  • presentations
  • business reviews
  • the full range of management skills (coaching, counselling, meetings etc)

Such customised material can support the translation of strategy into execution in various ways:
  • standard setting ("what success looks like")
  • skills illustrations and activities
  • skills enhancement through closed-circuit practice
  • "Total Training" projects;
  1.      train-the-trainer resources
  2.      team-leader resources
  3.      reinforcement packages (self-paced or team-led)

We also possess a video library of generic skills illustrations, using non-client-specific scenarios and case studies.  This allows us from time to time to offer video support material for clients who are happy to work with less customised materials.  In this case the materials are licenced to the client for a specific period or a rental charge is built into the overall project costing.
